Poem: Oasis

Image

I dedicate this poem to the Great Drysnactyls ’08 and all those with whom we ignited our passion for jungle life! I am doing this in my sleeping bag!!! Here we go….

OASIS*

I claim you as sanctuary..

A million ton of sand
with only one ally
that sweeps upon the land

erosion burrows deep
beneath your table
where irrigated tears
caress and sleep

Porous grains allow
heaven to reach down deep

and there sprouts the drifted
seed amidst the great Olepolos

An island in an ocean
of searing heat that blazes
beneath the sweltering sun

Desert garden watered springs
from earths resting place
provides the refuge sought
